Oxford Contemporary Music
OCM promotes high quality new music for a wide range of local and national audiences by staging and promoting performances, commissioning new work, and by deepening understanding and appreciation of musical cultures from within the UK and world-wide.

PRSF’s grant will support OCM’s 2006-2007 programme which continues to broaden in its range of activities from small scale concerts in intimate settings to site specific installations.
The events programme includes new compositions by many British composers, including Graham Fitkin, Sadie Harison, Howard Skempton and Paul Whitty, performed by Three Strange Angels and Okeanos. Our series at Modern Art Oxford goes from strength to strength and this season will feature new work by emerging and local artists from jazz to electronica.
In the Spring of 2007 we aim to launch a new series of events on Sunday lunchtimes to introduce audiences to a range of new work as we continue to expand the venues we use around the city. We are also working with Dorchester Abbey on a site specific sound installation in May. Alongside our performance programme, our new education and outreach officer will take live music from the season into schools and a range of community settings.
