National Portrait Gallery - Friday Evening Music

National Portrait Gallery

Friday Evening Music 2006-2007

Friday Evening Music continues to thrive at the National Portrait Gallery, where support from the PRS Foundation is instrumental in bringing new music performers of diverse genres and new compositions to the Gallery. This enhances the Gallery’s offer and its ability to attract new audiences, by expanding the experience of evening openings for all visitors.

Performances are free for the public. They take place in several parts of the Gallery throughout the year, sometimes moving through different spaces during one performance. The programme often highlights elements of the Gallery’s collections and temporary exhibitions, and features key figures from the world of new music who are making an important contribution to contemporary British history and culture.

The Gallery will continue to strengthen its association with new music during the coming year. Those taking the Friday evening slot in the coming months include Farmyard Animals Trio, Camberwell Composers Collective, Ignacio Molins Bosch and Sam Leak Trio with Bukky Leo. Dominic Moore and Daniel Becker will perform music by Huw Watkins.
